Job Title: Business Accountant
Bains Industries Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled business accountant to join their in-house team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform analysis of Profit and Loss statements to assist with month-end processing and reporting.
Prepare financial statements, including cash flow, for presentation to directors and statutory bodies.
Provide support to business managers through ad hoc financial analysis, pricing, and reporting.
Offer advice on financial planning and risk management with reports to assist in business decision-making.
Liaise with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements.
Play a key part in the month-end accounting cycle, including reviews, financial reporting, budgetary systems, cost management, and analysis.
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and inventory accounts each month.
Examine the organization's operating costs, income, and expenditure.
Manage fixed asset registers and asset valuation.
Collate and prepare BAS and superannuation information for submission to the Australian Taxation Office.
Prepare and lodge Payroll Tax through NSW Revenue Services.
Responsible for accounts receivables, accounts payables, payroll, as well as day-to-day bank reconciliation.
Conduct financial investigations, prepare reports, and undertake audits to provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.
Manage internal controls and introduce and maintain accounting systems, advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in accounting.
Minimum 2 years' experience as an accountant/assistant accountant.
Excellent understanding of accounting processes and practices.
Excellent MS Excel skills.
Superior time management skills, high-level numerical skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
Critical, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with MYOB.
