Develop and design innovative and trend-setting accessories for the womenswear department at Marks and Spencer.
Conduct thorough market research and trend forecasting to stay ahead of the competition.
Collaborate with the Womenswear team to ensure that accessories are cohesive with the overall brand aesthetic and vision.
Create detailed sketches and technical drawings of accessories, including handbags, jewelry, and scarves.
Source and select high-quality materials and trims for the production of accessories.
Work closely with vendors and factories to ensure timely and efficient production of accessories.
Monitor and maintain the quality and consistency of accessories throughout the production process.
Attend fashion shows and trade events to stay updated on emerging trends and styles in the accessories industry.
Constantly seek out new sources of inspiration and innovative techniques to incorporate into accessory design.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising and marketing, to ensure successful launches of new accessory collections.
Ensure that all designs adhere to company standards, including cost and quality requirements.
Keep up-to-date with industry developments and competitor offerings to inform and improve accessories design.
Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and adhering to budgets.
Mentor and train junior designers, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
Continuously evaluate and improve accessories designs based on customer feedback and sales performance.
