This position works in Bonsor - Aquatic Services. This is aquatic leadership work in assisting a superior in directing the provision of aquatic instructional and recreational programs in an indoor and/or outdoor aquatic facility on an assigned shift. An incumbent of this class supervises, checks and participates in the work of a moderate sized group of subordinates engaged in instructional, lifeguarding, maintenance, janitorial and clerical tasks. In addition, the incumbent participates in program development and promotion and while independence of judgement and action is exercised with respect to matters of a routine nature, difficult or unusual problems are referred to a superior who reviews work performance on the basis of effectiveness of aquatic programs and services rendered and in terms of conformance with established policies practices and procedures. Performs related work as required.

Qualifications include Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by courses in lifesaving, lifeguarding, aquatic instruction and pool operation and maintenance; Occupational First Aid, plus sound related supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia, Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor, Lifesaving Society Instructor/Examiner, Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard – Pool, Standard First Aid is required. Please note that a Police Information Check may be required for this position.

Schedule: 48 hours bi-weekly (.60% FTE); Monday from 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM; Saturday from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; Sunday from 12:30 PM – +:00 PM
