The Spray Painter – Spray Booth Technician is responsible for the expert application of finishes to cabinetry and wood components using a dedicated spray booth. This role requires advanced technical skills in spray application, a strong understanding of finishing materials, and a commitment to achieving consistent, high-quality results that meet both client and internal standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot spray booth systems and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Apply a range of finishes—including primers, paints, stains, sealers, and topcoats—using HVLP and/or airless spray equipment.
Mix and tint paint to exact specifications, ensuring color accuracy and finish consistency.
Conduct surface preparation including sanding, filling, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and smooth results.
Inspect finished components for defects, touch-ups, or inconsistencies, and rework as necessary to meet exacting quality standards.
Maintain detailed records of materials used, booth conditions, and quality checks.
Follow all health and safety regulations related to spray operations, including proper PPE usage and ventilation practices.
Collaborate closely with the production, assembly, and design teams to ensure schedules and finish specifications are met.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the spray booth and surrounding workspace.
Qualifications Experience

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a spray booth environment, preferably in cabinetry, millwork, or furniture finishing.
Advanced knowledge of HVLP spray systems, water-based and solvent-based coatings, and proper application techniques.
Demonstrated ability to achieve high-quality, streak-free, and uniform finishes across varying materials and surfaces.
Familiarity with color matching, tinting, and viscosity adjustments.
Strong knowledge of safety practices related to coatings, solvents, and booth operation.
Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Comfortable working in a spray booth environment (with proper ventilation and PPE).
Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
