JOB TITLE: ASSOCIATE MANAGER - LEGAL

JOB SUMMARY: THE POSITION WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING ADHERENCE OF THE COMPANY'S MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS TO APPLICABLE LAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS, AND INTERNAL BUSINESS POLICIES. IN ADDITION, THIS ROLE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOCAL ADVOCACY, ENGAGEMENT WITH REGULATORS, BUILDING LOCAL NETWORKS, OWNING THE RISK MANAGEMENT POLICY, AND EMBEDDING RISK-MITIGATION PROCESSES INTENDING TO MINIMIZE AND REDUCE EXPOSURE ACROSS VARIOUS WORK STREAMS BY PARTNERING WITH MANUFACTURING, HR, FINANCE AND OTHER FUNCTIONS TO IDENTIFY, MONITOR AND ENSURE FULL COMPLIANCE.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES / TASKS
• Partner with the business to ensure that business activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
• Work closely with Businesses to identify and mitigate risks through embedding processes and protocols.
• Provide close support and guidance to the Greenfield Project execution team on topics related to permits, licenses, approvals, vendor compliance management, etc. to produce good quality parts as per requirement.
• Responsible for the day-to-day management and ongoing development of the Compliance Function.
• From advisory to documentation, to local advocacy and networking, to identifying and mitigating risk on an ongoing basis.
• Serve as liaison for regulators, and legal bodies as well as maintaining relationships with relevant legal bodies and regulators.
• Should have experience in Civil and criminal Writs matters and matters relating to appointment and departmental proceedings.
• Business partner to Manufacturing HR team in the management of employment-related matters in Daman Gujarat.
• Internal inquiry, Experience in strategizing such litigation before various labor courts, Labour Tribunals, civil/criminal courts, High Courts, and Supreme Court.

QUALIFICATIONS
• LLB or Master’s Degree in Law
• Minimum 7 years of Experience in Manufacturing industry

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Should have command over Litigation management, Labour issues/litigation including contract management and commercial laws. Exposure to IR matters from legal standpoint; a manufacturing background for this position will be important.
• Preferred local candidate who is well versed about government authorities and other details
• Language Hindi , English and Gujarati must
