ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
Current Certification of Competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the Ontario College of Nurses.
RPN Diploma preferred.
Current BCLS certification.
Minimum of 2 years acute surgical experience (within the last 3 years) in the pre-operative preparation and post-operative care of the surgical patient.
Airway Management Skills.
-Computer Skills - Intranet, Microsoft Office, Care Manager, STAR, Solcom, Risk Monitor Pro.
Practice level consistent with the full scope of practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario, which includes but is not limited to:
Evidence of the successful, administration and management of blood & blood products.
Evidence of the successful completion and/or practice in processing physician orders, administration of oral, subcutaneous, IM, suppository, aerosol and IV medications, venipuncture and IV management.
Demonstrated adherence to the expectations of nursing practice at CKHA
Member of RPNAO preferred.
