Qualifications
We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related discipline
We need at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience as a System Engineer, System Analyst, or Network Engineer
We may consider an equivalent blend of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the needed capabilities
We need strong hands-on expertise with Cisco networking and security platforms
We require solid understanding of system design, architecture, and integration methods
We need experience with Windows operating systems and database connectivity
We value familiarity with backup platforms such as Commvault or comparable solutions
We require working knowledge of Linux operating systems
We need experience with cloud-based technologies and county-wide fiber network support, design, or management
We require strong proficiency with VMware virtualization environments
We need practical experience with LAN/WAN design, analysis, and planning
We require the ability to configure, install, and troubleshoot VPNs, switches, routers, and firewalls
We need knowledge of enterprise antivirus tools for servers and desktops
We value experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting utilities
We need the ability to interpret highway construction plans and related fiber documentation
We require familiarity with mobile operating systems, including iOS and Android

We design and implement network communications for our headquarters and remote sites, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network equipment
We review, analyze, modify, install, and maintain hardware, software applications, and system programs
We administer and support LAN, WAN, security, storage, and cloud environments
We provide technical support for FL 511 and interstate or inter-agency connectivity
We deliver senior-level assistance to the Information Technology Analyst and field support teams
We remain on call 24x7 for critical systems such as email, core routers and switches, mobile device management, and other essential services
We travel to remote locations to investigate and resolve network issues
We maintain Dell and Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 routers and switches
We continuously monitor network usage to identify possible faults or performance concerns
We plan, install, and sustain network expansions to support agency growth
We maintain Sun Guide and ITS servers, including upgrades and virtualization support
We manage network connectivity for remote roadway locations
We support our disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity processes
