Z/OS DBA Admin, system programmer with Mainframe experience
As a DBA Admin and system programmer with mainframe experience, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining DB2 subsystems on z/OS. This includes installation, configuration, upgrades, and optimization of database performance.
The role involves performing daily tasks such as buffer pool tuning, DSNZPARM configuration, and log management to ensure the smooth operation of DB2 subsystems.
You will also be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues impacting application or system performance, as well as collaborating with z/OS teams during IPLs and system events to ensure DB2 availability and stability.
A key aspect of this role is automation, where you will use scripting to enhance operational efficiency and support incident handling, deployments, and maintenance across L1, L2, and development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain DB2 subsystems on z/OS
• Optimize DB2 performance through buffer pool tuning, DSNZPARM configuration, and log management
• Troubleshoot and resolve DB2-related issues

• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting
Required Skills:
• Deep expertise in DB2 for z/OS administration and system programming
• Strong knowledge of JES, SDSNs, DB2 libraries, and system-level configurations
• Experience with DSNZPARM tuning, buffer pool sizing, and performance diagnostics
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting for mainframe environments
• Proficiency in handling subsystem recoveries and high-availability configurations
Preferred Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in DB2 DBA and system programming roles
• Exposure to modernization initiatives and integration with cloud or hybrid environments
