Fixed Term Part Time (Until 10 December 2025)
Monday to Friday, 24 hours per week
Pro Rata amount of $78,853 – $84,329 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 2) + Superannuation
Location – Rockhampton
Your new role
As a Zoo Visitor Services Officer, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable customer experiences and coordinating public programs to engage visitors in activities with the zoo.

Rockhampton Zoo is open to the public every day (except Christmas Day). Although the standard hours will be working from Monday to Friday, there may be a requirement to work on weekends (penalty rates apply where applicable).
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
Demonstrated customer service experience and the ability to engage and inspire visitors of all ages.
Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work well within a team environment as well as work independently at times, demonstrating initiative and requiring minimal supervision.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create and schedule programs and events tickets in the ticketing system.

Experience delivering high-quality customer service, alongside proficiency in using various software tools such as MS Office, ticketing systems, website builders, social media platforms, and design software.
Experience creating, planning and delivering events and/or community programs, with a particular focus on educations activities for children, including interactive and hands-on learning experiences.
Strong team player and the ability to display initiative in the workplace.
