Warehouse Coordinator
Term: Full-Time Seasonal

Responsibilities:
Ensure a high level of customer service to walk in customers.
Coordinate day-to-day warehouse operations, including the storage and movement of cargo, In and out of the warehouse.
Ensure that operational procedures are followed for receiving, moving, and storing cargo.
Coordinate the management of dangerous goods, ensuring they are stored and transported according to established guidelines.
Records and reports any notable damage to incoming or outgoing freight.
Serves as a linesperson for arriving and departing vessels.
Provides access control and traffic direction as required.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures, environmental and transportation regulations, and industry best practices.
Coordinate with Freight Handlers, Shippers, Managers, and other staff members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Report operational issues, delays, or safety concerns to the Port Manager/Assistant Port Manager
Maintain clear communication with other departments and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
Quickly identify operational challenges and troubleshoot problems as they arise.
Make decisions to ensure minimal disruption to warehouse operations
Respond to spills, hazards, and damages ensuring appropriate measures are taken
Ensure accurate documentation of cargo movements
Prepare and submit reports as requested by Port Manager / Assistant Port Manager.
Other duties as required by the Port Manager and Assistant Port Manager
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required); additional certifications in logistics, warehousing, or cargo transportation would be considered an asset.
2 years of experience in port or warehouse operations, marine logistics, cargo transportation or a similar field,
Strong knowledge, cargo handling procedures, and safety standards.
Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office software.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to handle pressure and make decisions in high-stress situations.
Knowledge of port equipment (forklifts, etc.) and their operation is an advantage.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including safety, environmental, and security standards.
First Aid/CPR certifications preferred.
