The opportunity

An opportunity has become available in our Vibrant Places team for an experienced Vibrant Places Officer to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis!

Reporting to our Events, Arts and Culture Lead, your role as Vibrant Places Officer is key to our success in delivering events, arts and place making activations across our Local Government area. You will deliver councils Civic events including Australia Day, NAIDOC week and New Years Eve. You will support the overall Vibrant Places team in creating vibrant and liveable places, supporting economic growth, increasing overnight visitor spend, and fostering community connection in Port Stephens.

You will also work with community and event organisers to support the delivery of events on council land. Including providing advice, expertise and support in building a safe, sustainable and inclusive event in Port Stephens

This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
Base Salary Range: $66,924 to $78,574 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $2,312 retention allowance - salary reflective of 2024/25 FY rates and will increase by 4% from end of July 2025.
You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

Contribute to the development and delivery of Council’s events and activation program to align with identified strategic outcomes
Facilitate and support film wedding and event organisers with the PSC licence
Coordinate the event application, assessment and approvals process, ensuring that the operational aspects of the event are appropriate
Support the curation of the arts and cultural program

Tertiary qualification in a related field with proven experience in a similar role
Sound understanding of the event and arts industry including experience with operations, development, support and facilitation in events and arts projects
Prior experience coordinating event or community projects including planning and delivery skills
