Job description
Job Title: Zonal Sales Manager (Pharmaceuticals)

Job Summary:

The Zonal Sales Manager (ZSM) is responsible for managing the sales operations within a specific geographic zone. The role includes leading a team of Area Sales Managers (ASMs), Medical Representatives (MRs), and other field staff to achieve sales targets, grow market share, and ensure implementation of marketing strategies in alignment with the company's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Strategy Execution:
• Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve zonal sales targets.
• Monitor and drive primary and secondary sales.
• Ensure effective territory coverage and customer segmentation.

2. Team Management:
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of ASMs and MRs.
• Conduct regular training, fieldwork, and performance reviews.
• Ensure discipline, adherence to company policies, and timely reporting.

3. Market Development:
• Identify new business opportunities and areas for growth.
• Build relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and distributors.
• Monitor competitor activities and provide market intelligence.

4. Customer Channel Management:
• Ensure smooth coordination with distributors, stockists, and retailers.
• Resolve issues related to product availability, pricing, or distribution.
• Support marketing campaigns and product launches in the zone.

5. Reporting Analysis:
• Analyze sales data, market trends, and performance metrics.
• Submit weekly/monthly reports to senior management.
• Provide feedback to the marketing and product teams for better positioning.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Achievement of zonal sales targets
• Growth in prescription and product market share
• Team performance and attrition control
• Customer satisfaction and distribution efficiency

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Science, or related field (MBA preferred)
• Minimum 8–10 years of pharmaceutical sales experience
• Prior experience as Area Sales Manager or equivalent
• Proven track record in managing teams and delivering results

Skills Required:
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Analytical and strategic thinking
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Sound understanding of pharma market dynamics
• Willingness to travel extensively within the zone

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹75,000.00 - ₹85,000.00 per month
