The Driver C Class provides efficient, safe, reliable and courteous collection and delivery of all participants and goods involved in operations of The Salvation Army.Transportation Service- Ensure pick-ups and drop offs are performed in a timely and efficient manner- Ensure vehicle log book is correctly filled in.- Assist to load and unload donations to and from the vehicle and ensure it is moved to the correct unpacking area in a safe manner- Other duties as required- Operate in a manner that promotes effective teamwork and good relationships with donators- Keep customers and donors informed and updated of agreed delivery/collection times- Be prompt, courteous and respectful when interacting with others- Ensure vehicle is left clean and tidy after each shift- Ensure vehicle is refuelled after each shift- Safely transport donations, adhering to all road laws and regulations.- Strict adherence to WHS policies in relation to the lifting and moving of donations - furniture and goods- Notify the Line Manager if unavailable to work rostered shifts, within 24 hours of shift.- Maintain regular communication with Line Manager and team members to discuss your visits and any concerns that may arise- Actively promote TSA in a positive manner at all times- Wear a supplied Identification Badge at all times when undertaking TSA dutiesProvide Quality Customer Service- Exhibiting professional image of TSA, displaying professionalism and integrity at all times.- Accurate information provided to customers.- Refer people to appropriate Salvation Army services. Follow up with Manager if unsure.- Listen carefully, and acknowledge and refer concerns, issues or queries to ManagerMaintain a Safe and Healthy Environment- Monitor and rectify any health and safety concerns within the centre. Escalate issues that cannot be attended to the Manager.- Before each trip, collect keys, vehicle and list of collection sites from designated area, check windscreen washer reservoir, fuel, oil and water levels and tyre pressure, and record all details in the vehicle’s logbook as required.- At the end of each trip, clean and re-fuel vehicle, return vehicle to designated area, complete logbook details and report any difficulties or vehicle repair/maintenance issues to Line Manager- At all times ensure the vehicle mobile telephone is switched on, is contactable at all times and is safely secured within the vehicle (if supplied). Report any potential health and safety concerns to Line Manager in a timely manner- Complete hazard/ incident and accident form in a timely manner- Inform Line Manager of any vehicle service or repair issues, replacement of any care kit items, and advise when logbooks or receipt books are nearing completion.- Immediately report any health and safety concerns, notifiable incidents and near misses, to Senior Team Leader and ensure any hazards are controlled until rectified.- Ensure hazard, incident and accident form is completed when required in a timely mannerQualifications and Experience Requirements for the Position- Good communication skills- Previous experience driving (insert vehicle type)- Current C Class driver’s licence applicable to vehicle typeMandatory Requirements of the Position- List any required integrity checks- Complete TSA Mission Volunteer induction, training and registration.- A reasonable level of fitness to meet the inherent requirements of the role- Closed footwear must be worn at all times- Maintain a current driver’s licenceRequired Capabilities- Shows personal motivation and commitment to completing work activities effectively.- Supports a culture of integrity and professionalism.- Represents the organisation in an honest, ethical and professional way.- Recognises and respects the rights and beliefs of others in a non-judgemental way.- Connects positively with colleagues and partners within and outside TSA.- Works as a supportive and cooperative team member, shares information and acknowledges the contribution and support of others.- Provides service appropriately and responsively to the needs of the people.- Demonstrates accountability aligned to internal and external requirements.- Supports and acts in compliance with the records, info Read more
