Typist
We are hiring a dedicated and detail-oriented Typist to join our publishing house.
The ideal candidate should have excellent typing speed, strong knowledge of computer operations, and a keen eye for accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Type manuscripts, notes, and other written content into digital format
Proofread and format typed content as per editorial standards
Handle word processing tasks and file conversions
Organize and manage digital book files
Collaborate with editors and designers to finalize manuscripts
Requirements:
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and typing software
Minimum typing speed of 50 WPM with high accuracy
Familiarity with formatting tools, PDF conversion, and file organization
Knowledge of basic desktop publishing software is a plus
Ability to handle large volumes of text and meet deadlines
Good communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in typing/editing for a publishing house
Comfortable working in English and regional languages (if applicable)
