Company Introduction: TT Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country: 13 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 10 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.
The Role: Reporting to Warehouse Distribution Operation Supervisor, the Truck Driver is responsible for transporting merchandise, products, equipment, and etc., from location to location, building to building.
Major Responsibilities: Perform truck loadings and deliveries of different locations, as assigned
Ensure the cargo security and temperature controlling per requirement, to prevent or minimize the chance of product damages and losses
Take necessary precaution on food safety measures while handling and transporting food items.
Maintain files, trip records and routines needed to insure the efficient operation of the delivery.
Conduct pre-shift truck circle check, and maintain truck at its best running condition.
Report any truck maintenance issues or problems immediately to the Operation Supervisor
Maintain the cleanness of both inside and outside of the truck.
Operate truck in a safe manner at all time.
Follow all work safety rules and traffic regulations.
Wear required and necessary safety Personal Protective Equipment.
Work in walk-in cooler/freezer as arranged/needed
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
Possess a valid driver’s license of commercial truck: Class 5 in BC Alberta, Class D in Ontario, with Air-brake Endorsement
Possess valid Pallet Jacket license
Fully understand the traffic regulations and safety rules related to operating truck and pallet equipment.
Food safety training on food transportation personal hygiene
Basic knowledge of inspecting, maintaining and servicing truck.
Ability to deal effectively and patiently with others.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to lift 60 lbs.
1 year experience of commercial truck operation, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Confidence of operation a commercial truck in a busy downtown area.
Must be 18 years of age or older, with a clean driving record.
