About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our friendly and growing team at our Goombungee, QLD location. In this role you will be responsible for providing a delivery and pick up service between Ahrens and their customers and suppliers. You will also provide support to warehousing and logistics functions of Ahrens and assist in the paint/blast bay, yard/dispatch and workshop areas as required. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player and hold a Truck (minimum HC) licence.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the efficient distribution of finished goods to customers and delivery of raw materials to production;
Oversee the safe loading and unloading of materials and finished goods, including tie down to relevant safety standards;
Collect materials from suppliers as directed;
Maintain the truck in clean, sound working order and fueled at all times;
Maintain accurate truck log book;
Monitor the condition of tie down straps/chains and notify management of any non-conforming items;
Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of immediate and site work areas, equipment and tools;
Safely and efficiently undertake other duties as instructed by Operations Manager;
Safely and efficiently undertake all other tasks as directed;
Comply with road and traffic act regulations (laws).
Skills and Experience

Expertise relating to forklift and truck driving.
Truck (HR) licence;
Experience in loading, unloading and distributing large, heavy inventory and finished goods;
Proven experience using reliable, safe work practices;
Be prepared to travel and work at other Ahrens work/project sites to complete work as required;
Previous experience in the manufacturing/fabrication industry (desirable);
On Site Construction Card;
Forklift licence.
