Teacher Intern
Why do we exist? What do we do?
The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Their chances of attending college, or building a career are significantly lower than their high-income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice. iTeach was born in 2015 to challenge this status quo and create a level playing field for ALL children.
We run free and high-impact schools and an exceptional college-to-career program for the most
Responsibilities
A teacher intern at iTeach Schools wears multiple hats to ensure an excellent education for their students. The key responsibilities of the role are:
Supporting your mentor teacher (around 75% of the time)
- Helping your mentor teacher in designing innovative annual plans, unit plans, and lesson plans.
- Co-teaching in your mentor's classes.
- Helping in conducting regular assessments to monitor learning and giving feedback to students.
- Assisting your mentor teacher with any student-parent communications and relationships.
Mentoring students (remainder 25% of the time)
- Working with your mentor teacher is advising nearly 15-20 students throughout the period of the internship.
Ensuring that these students have strong study habits, high attendance, and the drive to excel.
