Task Force Hotel Manager (Southwest)

GreenTree Hospitality is looking for a seasoned hotel professional to step into an exciting role as our Task Force General Manager this summer — and potentially beyond.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As the Task Force Manager, you will be deployed to perform special tasks or specific projects within a district or region. The Task Force Manager will oversee, direct, and manage property operations of assigned hotel(s) to ensure optimum performance and continual improvement in KPIs and company metrics. The Task Force Manager will work independently to fulfill the responsibilities of hotel general manager with or without an onsite GM. This individual:
• Provides leadership and direction for a specific and perform daily management and sales duties to ensure optimum property operation in the absence of the regular AGM/GM.
• Monitors compliance with labor standards and staffing guidelines by all departments.
• Monitors compliance with annually established room rate plan.
• Monitors operating expense tracking system for all departments.
• Recommends and then establishes annual incentive programs for all department heads.
• Conducts staff meetings on weekly basis to ensure interdepartmental communication and coordination of mutual goals.
• Conducts audits on a quarterly basis of departmental procedures and results.
• Monitors Daily Rooms Inventory Control and merchandising procedures.
• Conducts weekly rate surveys of competitive hotels and monitors program for competitive analysis and price-value assessment.
• Monitors and ensures compliance with amenity programs, franchise and company standards, as well as promotional materials.
• Submits annual Capital and RM budgets for approval by Corporate Office. Ensures completion of all approved Capital and RM items
• Ensures compliance with monthly and annual budgets. Summarize weekly and monthly performance.
• Conduct monthly meetings with corporate office. Address any budget variances. Lead the team to achieve satisfactory performance in both customer satisfaction, financial performance, employee developments.
• If the property requires additional help, to inspect and to assess GM and AGM’s leadership abilities. Provide necessary trainings and take necessary disciplinary action to achieve a better result.
• Conducts daily inspections of guest rooms to ensure housekeeping is meeting/exceeding cleanliness standards.
• Conducts property inspections and approves action plans to include timetable to resolve problems.
Guest Satisfaction/Public Relations:
• Evaluates all guest complaints and ensures corrective action is taken by department heads.
• Monitors response letters/corrective action program on response cards.
• Plays active role in community through affiliation with various community organizations to promote and maintain positive image for hotel.
• Partner with Corporate Sales and Marketing, Revenue Management team to coordinate and lead and implement sales and marketing activities of the property.
• Conducts daily local sales and marketing, actively developing memberships for the company, generate repeat businesses.
Human Resources:
• Ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained, adhering to labor to budget as P.O.R., percent to sales, and approved staffing guidelines.
• Ensures compliance of all department heads with goal-oriented job descriptions and reviews goals with each individual.
• Ensures development and maintenance of job description in each employee's personnel file.
• Reviews with applicable employees any revisions/additions made to job description.
• Conducts annual performance evaluations on all department heads. Ensures all department heads annual conduct performance evaluations with their employees.
• Encourages promotion from within and employee development through goal setting and employee training.
• Ensures hotel is in compliance with all Federal and State laws with regard to all personnel practices.
• Other responsibilities assigned by corporate office.
REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED TRAITS
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management or Business, preferred.
• At least 2-3 years of related work experience in a limited service hotel.
• Ability to take ownership of activities and follow through to completion.
• Experience in a fast-pace, high energy and demanding work environment.
• This job may require travel.
