The Systems Administrator assists in supporting all technical operations of our studio locations. Day-to-day tasks include basic help desk support via a ticketing system supporting over a thousand global users, quickly and effectively responding to alerts and emergencies as well as the general preparation and maintenance of critical and periphery infrastructure. This is a Hybrid opportunity based in London. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provides organization-wide help desk and server support - Assists in addressing business and technical needs - Works independently and in teams on administrative and technical projects - Provisions and maintains employee equipment - Monitors and maintains a variety of physical and logical systems - Collects and analyzes data to report on the health of systems - Responds to and assists in resolving incidents and emergencies - Timely completion of tasks assigned primarily through a ticketing system - Learn open and proprietary hardware and software systems - Stays current with industry standards and emerging technologies QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer science, engineering, physics, and/or mathematics - Previous experience in a systems administration role preferred, ideally in the VFX/Gaming industry - Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux desktop and server systems - Networking theory and practice (e.g. TCP/IP, VLANs, link aggregation, routing) - Knowledge of common network services/protocols (e.g. DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SMB, NFS) - Knowledge of common network services (e.g. RFC, ISO, IEEE) - Knowledge of common network services (e.g. Microsoft Office/Excel, E-mail Clients) - Experience with server rooms/data centers - Team player with the ability to work individuality - Learns quickly and independently - Strong organizational skills - Quickly and methodically troubleshoots and solves problems - Effectively communicates technical ideas to non-technical people - Able to lift and move items up to 25 lbs and to work flexible hours
