Steward/waiter
Key Responsibilities:Guest Service Order Taking :
- Greet guests warmly, escort them to tables, and present menus.
- Provide detailed information on menu items, specials, and promotions.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and relay them to the kitchen/bar.
- Ensure timely and proper service of orders while maintaining quality standards.
- Address guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests professionally.
Food Beverage Service :
- Serve food and beverages efficiently, following service protocols.
- Perform table settings, refilling beverages, and clearing plates between courses.
- Upsell menu items, recommend wine pairings, and promote special offers.
- Ensure cutlery, glassware, and dishes are clean and arranged correctly.
Cleanliness Hygiene :
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the dining area and service stations.
- Follow hygiene and safety guidelines as per company and local health regulations.
- Assist in daily cleaning and closing duties, ensuring the restaurant is tidy.
Teamwork Coordination :
- Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and fellow waitstaff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist in preparing tables, arranging decorations, and setting up buffet stations.
- Participate in pre-service briefings and training sessions.
Billing Cash Handling :
- Present bills to guests, process payments, and handle cash/card transactions.
- Follow proper billing and accounting procedures.
Required Skills Qualifications :
- Education : Minimum 10th/12th pass; diploma in hospitality preferred.
- Experience : 1+ year experience as a Steward/Waiter in a restaurant, hotel, or banquet setup.
- Skills :
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Basic math skills for order calculations and billing.
- Physical Requirements :
- Ability to stand for long hours and lift trays/dishes when required.
