Staff Nurse – IVF
Duties Responsibilities:
• Assisting in Patient Investigation procedures such as Endocrine profiles, Hormonal Assays, and other Diagnostic tests
• Assist in the management, and support of sub-fertile couples before, during, and after treatment cycles, developing a therapeutic environment to meet the individual needs of the couples.
• Coordinate for Doctors consultations with Patient before, during and post treatment cycles.
• Ensure that informed consent is obtained from patients by the treating Doctors
• Ensure Embryologist consent forms are completed for the treatment cycle, discussing the risks associated with ART and potential usage of gametes for research.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, providing information and implications counselling to enable couples to make informed choices regarding their treatment.
• Coordinate with Consultant in family support/ counseling in highly stressful situations (e.g. breaking bad news, diagnosis of ectopic or miscarriage, managing bereavement and anger management) both face to face and over the telephone.
• keep accurate records for each patient’s record for follow up visits /Consultation.
• Assist the Clinician in History Collection, Physical Examination Procedures
• Assist the Doctor in explaining the Patient about the individualized treatment schedule including the potential side effects of the drug /Risk Involved
• Assist the Doctor in oocyte retrieval /embryo transfer/intrauterine insemination, donor insemination/ other assisted Reproductive Techniques
• Provide Basic Nursing care meticulously
• Provide Advanced Nursing care whenever Required
• Ensure Safe transportation of patient
• Involve in Sample collection Procedures (Blood/Urine/Semen)
• Assist Doctor in Diagnostic Procedures such as Follicular study/USG/TVS scan etc
• Administration of Medications in all routes (IM/IV/SC/ID/Per vaginal)
• Pre and post procedure care preparation of all ART procedures
• Pre and Post operative care for Obsterical Surgeries pertaining to IVF- LSCS, cervical incompetence etc
• Safe Handling of BME Equipments including crash cart
• Practice High standards of HIC practices
• Practice within Legal/Ethical framework and maintain Confidentiality
• Practice Empathy to the patients
• Trained in BLS/ACLS
Administrative
• Ensure the care as per policy/Protocols
• Documentation/Record Keeping/Report Writing
• Ensure the cleanliness of the unit
• Coordinate with HIC in Fogging, Deep cleaning, and other HIC practices
• Schedule the duties within the Team and ensure 24/7 coverage
• Tracking KPIs as per Standards
• Practice Error reporting Culture
• Work within Inter Departmental team professionally
• Inventory/Stock management
• .Exercise professional Accountability at all times
• Decision making and Timeliness in care
• Prompt Reporting
• Ensure Adequate supplies within the unit
• Update all Checklist daily/weekly/Monthly – after proper checking
• Maintain Nominal registers meticulously
• Involve in Internals Audits
• Involve in patient Education
