Social Media Content Strategist
Job Overview
We’re building a high-performing content team around a rising podcast for Ivy League College Cornell University that is focused on entrepreneurship, startups, and business leadership — and we’re hiring a part-time Social Media Manager / Content Strategist to help us grow, engage, and inspire a loyal community across platforms.
This is a dual-role opportunity for someone who thrives at both strategy and execution — a digital storyteller with a marketer’s brain and a creator’s instinct. You’ll be responsible not just for posting content, but for helping guide what we post, how we grow, and how we stay culturally relevant.
Responsibilities
Develop and evolve a content strategy aligned with the podcast’s goals, voice, and business vision.
Maintain and manage a monthly content calendar by scheduling and publishing content (short-form clips, carousels, podcast episodes, tweets, etc.) consistently using tools like Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or native platform tools.
Guide the direction of future content — what stories we should tell, how we should tell them, and where.
Define content pillars, tone of voice, and platform-specific approaches (TikTok for reach, LinkedIn for authority, etc.).
Generate post ideas, hooks, series concepts, and campaigns for maximum platform performance.
Draft and edit thought leadership posts for the host (especially for LinkedIn and Twitter).
Monitor comments, DMs, brand mentions, and engage with followers/adjacent communities to grow a loyal and engaged audience.
Repurpose podcast content into social posts, tweet threads, email newsletters, and blog articles when needed.
Write engaging episode titles and descriptions that maximize discoverability and SEO.
Track KPIs (engagement, follower growth, reach, click-throughs, conversions).
Run A/B tests on headlines, hooks, formats, and publish times to optimize results.
Experience
2+ years experience in social media or content strategy (podcast or creator experience preferred).
Exceptional writing and copy skills — especially for hooks, captions, and professional storytelling.
Strong understanding of major social platforms: TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and YouTube.
Fluent in using analytics tools to drive decision-making.
Comfortable managing calendars, coordinating projects, and working independently.
Bonus: experience with podcasting tools, email marketing, or repurposing content.
Join us in shaping our brand's voice and engaging our audience through innovative social media strategies!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
Schedule:
Monday to Friday
Work Location: Hybrid remote in New York, NY 1001+
