CFMEU Victoria’s Construction Branch is looking for an experienced and passionate Social Media Digital Content Creator to drive our social media platforms.

Who we are

The Construction Division of the CFMEU (the Union) is Australia’s main trade union in building and construction. The Union has offices in all capital cities and has over 120,000 members across Australia.

The CFMEU in Victoria represents over 30,000 construction workers across Victoria and Tasmania, by protecting lives and improving health and safety standards, wages and conditions.

About the role

An opportunity has arisen for a pro-active and dynamic Social Media Digital Content Creator to join the CFMEU Victoria Communications team. With over 70,000 followers on our social media channels, you will have the opportunity to create powerful content with impact and reach. The successful candidate will need to be hands-on and have the ability to work well in a re-active environment.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the responsibilities of this exciting role include:

Plan, create and develop engaging and on-brand material such as videos, graphic tiles and photography for our social media and digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, our website and EDM’s.
Create striking videos and digital content for events, conferences and campaign work.
Write copy to accompany social media content, internal communications and campaign materials.
Regularly schedule and visit Union construction sites to obtain content and engage with our membership.
Liaise with a range of stakeholders, from members to our Executive, our media agency and external contractors.
Report and analysis of social media performance (monthly and post-campaign).
Ownership of social growth and engagement.
What the right candidate will bring

The successful candidate will need to have a go-getter attitude with exceptional communication skills and the ability to understand the audience. The desired skills and attributes will include:

Demonstrate a high-competence in content creation from video, digital design and photography.
Strong skills in video and post-production, with the ability to develop video content from concept to finished product.
Competent in Adobe Creative Suite programs such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Bridge/Lightroom.
Excellent copy-writing skills with an understanding of a suitable tone for the audience.
Work well independently and also within a fast-paced team environment.
Bring a confident, pro-active and positive approach.
Be flexible with your work hours as start time requirements will reflect construction industry hours. Read more
