Senior Project Engineer – Nepean Hospital, Stage 2

The Project


CPB Contractors has been selected by the NSW Government to deliver main construction works on the Nepean Hospital Redevelopment Stage 2.


Construction is underway, with the Stage 2 project works including:

The construction of a new clinical tower
An intensive care unit
Medical imaging services and nuclear medicine
An in-centre renal dialysis unit
A new paediatric impatient unit
Education and training facilities
A new front of house and reception area

Stage 2 also included the upgrade and repurposing of some existing buildings on campus which were completed in early 2024.CPB Contractors successfully delivered Nepean Hospital’s Stage 1 redevelopment and will utilise this experience to reduce any disruption to the health campus.


Your Opportunity


Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Project Engineer will be involved in managing and providing direction to the project team to deliver the project in accordance with the specified requirements.


Your responsibilities in the role will include:

Prepare construction area plans ensuring direct reports understand and follow the construction area plan
Monitor project completion ensuring adherence to program schedules, budgets, quality standards while meeting environmental and contractual obligations
Develop SHEQ process and procedures and managing others in conducting SHEQ processes and procedures
Will report the Project Director and work alongside the Senior Services Manager and Site Manager to deliver the Hospital Fit out
Role will be managing the fit-out engineers at Nepean (5 direct reports)
The role will not encompass structure façade or services that are managed by others, but will require to interface with them

Minimum requirements for this role include the following:

10 years of industry experience as Senior Project Engineer with exposure to Health projects
Medical/clinical grad fit out experience essential
Proven experience in procurement, commercial management and cost control ensuring construction activities align with schedule, budget and quality standards
Must have detailed knowledge of resolving design and construction problems in hospital fit out, including major medical equipment
Experience in Hospital Fit out and services is highly preferrable
