Kō tātou tēnei. Hei kawe i ngā mahi kia tutuki | This is us. Where making an impact matters.
We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer – Networking Security to join Kiwibank’s Enterprise Technology Hub.
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your days configuring switches and routers. Instead, you’ll support and evolve our modern network security platforms—working with best-of-breed security tooling, collaborating with our Information Security and Network teams, and engaging with trusted external partners.
Your focus will be on enabling secure connectivity and network infrastructure while supporting modern practices like SDN, Zero Trust network access, and cloud integration. You’ll also play a key role in automation and uplift of engineering practices across the platform team.
Ko tātou tēnei. Kia hāpai i ō pūkenga | This is us. Where your expertise matters.
Key skills and experience we’re looking for:
Hands-on experience in network design, implementation, and support in complex, multi-vendor environments.
Practical experience with Microsoft Server and Linux environments, providing a strong understanding of system behaviours and integration points that inform the design and delivery of more effective and secure networking solutions.
Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalling, and application delivery networks (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Citrix)
Experience with Zscaler Internet Access and Private Access (ZTNA, SASE, SSE)
Understanding of information security principles and practices
Proven ability to support and uplift others in Agile and/or DevOps environments
Experience using Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
A mindset that values automation and scripting over manual repetition
Bonus:
Familiarity with public cloud networking and secure connectivity models
Comfortable writing and maintaining scripts in various languages
