Sr. Interior Designer – Full Time
Location: Toronto, ON
Studio: Orion Studios

At Orion Studios, we work on projects all around the world, focusing on residential design. Everything from kitchen remodels to custom builds. Our team has been expanding quickly and we are looking for a Sr. Designer with a minimum of 6 years experience to join our team.

Role and responsibilities

Communicate your ideas through a variety of methods including verbal, written, sketches, 3D perspectives and AutoCAD
Liaise with clients, architects, engineers and trades
Assist in the development and implementation of new processes for the design team
Analyze and collaborate closely with clients and owner of the firm for value engineering process to ensure projects are within budget
Develop high-quality drawing and documentation sets that are clear, comprehensive and consistent
Self initiative and detailed follow through
Advanced experience in complex custom detailing
With an ability to work on multiple projects, schedule and meet deliverables, you also have the ability to detail the design to allow for co-ordination, accurate pricing and construction
Review final working drawing packages and document contemplated changes, site instruction, change orders
Exceptional project management skills to ensure targeted schedules are met for all projects
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline driven environment
Great teamwork skills and ability to work autonomously
Excellent problem solving skills
Experienced user of Excel, Outlook, PhotoShop, SketchUp, InDesign, AutoCAD
Management:

Provide guidance and mentorship to the design team to ensure quality design is carried throughout projects
Manage and supervise the team to ensure delivery of feasible design concepts
Manage overall project scope for the design team
Exhibit detail oriented project management skills
Creation and management of project budgets and workback schedules to ensure the firm is delivering on time and on budget
Manage and build team productivity in a positive manner by leading by example
Run weekly status meetings with the team and clients to ensure project delivery
Leadership:

Lead, motivate and communicate with all team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment
Contribute to the development of systems and processes for improved design, technical quality and/or client service
Create sound relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers to promote repeat business
Qualifications:

You have successfully completed a degree in Interior Design
A minimum of 6 years has been spent working on residential and commercial projects
Experience with global roll-outs is an asset
NCDIQ is an asset
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
