Job description

We are a specialized SEMH provision in Walthamstow, committed to providing high-quality education and support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. We collaborate with a reputable agency to ensure we recruit the best educators to join our dedicated team.

As an SEMH Teacher, you will:
• Deliver Tailored Education: Provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH.
• Support Development: Foster a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
• Implement Strategies: Utilize effective teaching strategies and interventions to support students in managing their emotions and behaviors.
• Collaborate: Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and external professionals to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of students with SEMH.
• Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and understood.
• Develop and implement behavior management plans to support positive student outcomes.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods and strategies as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.

What We're Looking For:
• Experience: Previous experience teaching students with SEMH needs is essential.
• Qualifications: A recognized teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) and additional training or qualifications in SEMH are advantageous.
• Skills: Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students with SEMH needs.
• Empathy and Patience: A compassionate approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and support their emotional well-being.
• Commitment: A genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH and a desire to make a lasting impact.
