Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Security Operations Manager to lead and drive compliance across all security functions within the organization. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the protection of our assets, personnel, and information by developing, implementing, and overseeing security strategies. You will lead the security operations team, ensuring a secure and safe environment while managing risk, incidents, investigations, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Drive compliance with industry best practices, frameworks, policies, and procedures to optimize security outcomes.
Oversee security project life cycles, from scoping and assessment to quality assurance and closure, ensuring timely and successful completion.
Provide key documentation, input, and risk assessments to inform security policies, procedures, and security solution implementation.
Monitor and audit internal and external compliance with security regulations, continuously improving controls and advising on security-related technologies.
Lead the design and execution of comprehensive security plans, ensuring the safety of assets, personnel, and information.
Manage security incident response efforts, ensuring effective resolution and recovery, and preparing detailed reports for senior management.
Supervise and manage security guarding and patrol services, ensuring optimal coverage and safety.
Maintain database integrity, ensure compliance with internal audits, and offer security advisory services.
Support event security, public disturbances, and crisis management, including planning, risk assessments, collaboration with authorities, and post-event reviews.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to provide consistent services across multiple locations.

Key Challenges

Collaborating with multiple stakeholders, including internal and outsourced partners, to ensure consistent service delivery across regional and metro sites.
Balancing employee wellbeing and public safety in the development of security services.
Adapting to evolving legislation and policy changes while maintaining operational effectiveness in a rapidly changing environment.

Decision-Making Authority

Operates autonomously within the context of an agreed work plan, making decisions regarding daily priorities.
Accountable for the quality, integrity, and validity of advice provided.
Defer complex issues to the Manager where required (technical, legislative, or political decisions).

Key Knowledge And Experience

Strong knowledge of security operations in a multiplatform environment.
Expertise in risk management, incident resolution, and security technology implementation.
Proven experience in managing large-scale security projects and leading cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex regulatory compliance and policy frameworks.

Essential Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in security management or a related field.
Required security licenses (e.g., Class 2A and 1AC license).
Diploma in Security and Risk Management or equivalent professional experience.
