Description
Join our team and what we’ll accomplish together
You will be joining the Chief Security Office (CSO) as part of the Security Clearance Screening (SCS) team.
The primary focus of this team is the security clearance and screening processes required by TELUS to meet contractual, policy and regulatory requirements. You will be assisting our team members to make sure they have the correct security clearance in place for the work they need to do.
What you’ll do
As a front line member of the SCS team you will respond to inquiries sent to TELUS regarding security clearances and screening and you will assist team members through their special clearance and screening processes. You will also provide support and improvements to an internal application used to support the team’s functions. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining the SCS operating environment and with the team’s continuous process improvement initiatives. Lastly, you will support any initiatives within the CSO related to cybersecurity.
Qualifications
What you bring
Post-secondary, College or University Degree, in Computer Science Technology, Security or related field
4+ years’ of experience in Information Security/Information Technology industry
Strong understanding of security policies and standards and the ability to interpret them and conduct assessments based on the control objectives
Ability to prioritize work based on importance and urgency, deal with customer demands and resolve conflicts and customer issues when needed
Exceptional problem solving, risk management, and negotiation skills; both as a leader and as a contributor
Flexible and able to quickly pivot focus as required in order to fulfill immediate business needs
Either currently hold a valid security clearance from the Government of Canada at Secret Level or greater OR be able to obtain security clearance from the Government of Canada at Secret Level or greater within 6 months from hire date
Great-to-haves
Currently hold or have held a valid security clearance certificate from Government of Canada at a Reliability Level or greater
Verbal and written proficiency in French is an asset
Currently hold security or audit certifications
Technical experience in systems design, system administration, web application development
Experience to code in SQL server, C#, and visual studio
Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.
