SANDBLASTER – PAINTER
POSITION SUMMARY
This position requires the candidate to successfully prepare manufactured sub-assemblies through abrasive blasting to a minimum SP5-6 profile, remove all loose particulate for the proper application of the primer and finish coat(s) of paint. Depending on additional training and skilled abilities, this candidate may also be required to perform other duties and responsibilities to maintain a full-time, 42 hour work week. This position reports directly to the Manufacturing/ Production Supervisor.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
-The manufactured sub-assemblies are properly prepared as per pre-paint specifications and will report any defects or deficiencies to the supervisor prior to painting.
-All paint processes are performed and conforms to JDC specifications and requirements.
- Blasting and Painting schedules are executed and completed to the planned production schedules.
- Maintain the determined inventory level(s) of Blast Media and Paint and to also control unnecessary waste.
- Maintain Blasting and Painting Equipment along with the Associated Areas in a Safe and Orderly Environment to be in compliance to all Legislated Workplace Safety Procedures.
-Safe and Proper Operation of all related Equipment.
PRIMARY TASKS
- Prepare all metal surfaces to the determined Commercial Blasting Level.
- Using compressed air to remove any foreign particulate (sand media) prior to placement in the designated paint area.
- Cover any exposed areas that do not require painting.
- Prepare paint (Primer and Finish) Coats to the required viscosity and adjust spraying equipment accordingly to achieve the expected quality of finish.
- Clean, Inspect, Maintain and Store the Blasting and Paint Equipment as required.
- Clean, Inspect and change Paint Room Filtration as required.
QUALIFICATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCES
- Successful Candidates must have a minimum high school diploma or the GED equivalency.
-Candidates are required to have a minimum of Five (5) years’ experience in a relative field.
-Must be highly self- motivated and be able to work independently or in a team environment.
- Must be able to perform and successfully execute the duties and demands in a fast-paced environment.
-This Candidate must possess a valid Fork Lift operator Certificate and have the necessary skills and experience to Safely Manipulate Large Oversize Assemblies
- This position will require the candidate to accept working additional hours (overtime) outside the regular manufacturing hours to maintain the assembly processes.

COMPENSATION
-Starting Wage: $24.00 to 28.00 per hour (based on qualifications and previous work experience).
-Open to all Canadian Residents.
