Rides Maintenance Supervisor

Job Overview
As the Rides Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance team responsible for the mechanical and electrical upkeep of all rides and special effects in the park. Your role will be vital in ensuring our rides run smoothly, safely, and efficiently while maintaining a high standard of guest satisfaction. You’ll work alongside a dynamic team to ensure all safety protocols are met and provide ongoing training, support, and leadership.
What You’ll Do
• Supervise Lead: Direct, coach, and mentor a team of skilled maintenance professionals. You will be hands-on, leading by example, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the team adheres to safety and quality standards.
• Maintain Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines, including ASTM, San Diego County regulations, and DOSH. Your top priority will always be the safety of both guests and employees.
• Preventive Maintenance: Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure the longevity of our rides and attractions.
• Troubleshooting Emergency Repairs: When problems arise, you’ll be ready to respond quickly to minimize downtime and ensure our attractions are up and running efficiently.
• Team Development: You will play a key role in selecting, training, and evaluating team members, while providing performance feedback and coaching to help them grow.
• Budget Resource Management: Assist in budget preparation and ensure efficient use of resources, maintaining a balance between cost-effectiveness and safety.
• Scheduling Coordination: Help manage the maintenance schedule and coordinate with other departments to ensure everything runs smoothly.
• Compliance Reporting: Ensure proper documentation and keep up with local, state, and industry regulations. Write requisitions for parts and materials as needed.
Qualifications Experience
Experience: At least five years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory position. A background in theme park or ride maintenance is a plus.
Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for rides and buildings.
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical maintenance, and ride operations, including high-volume pumps and special effects. Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems is essential.
Problem-Solving: Ability to assess situations quickly, troubleshoot, and make informed decisions to ensure ride safety.
Team Player: A positive attitude and a commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment. You’ll be working with a diverse team across multiple departments.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; further technical education or certifications are a plus.
Licenses Certifications: A valid driver’s license with proof of driving insurance and a safe driving record. Willingness to use both company and personal vehicles as required.
Physical Demands
• Work all hours, rotating schedules to include weekends and holidays.
• Maintain excellent physical condition with no restrictions on lifting, bending or respiratory actions. Position will include extended periods of crouching, kneeling, standing, etc. to access all parts of the technical entities of the rides that are under Ride Maintenance purview
• Stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Climb to high places and perform work and inspection in difficult locations.
• Hear with surrounding distracting noises.
Work Environment
Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
Must adhere to use of the required PPE for the Role- as directed by the Ride Maintenance Manager and other Leadership entities.
Other Requirements
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, early mornings and weekends to support Park operations.

In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.

Pay Range
Compensation between USD $+6,000.00/Yr.-USD $104,000.00/Yr.
