Full job description
Ilir Sela started Slice with the belief that local pizzerias deserve all of the advantages of major franchises without compromising their independence. Starting with his family's pizzerias, we now empower over tens of thousands of restaurants with the technology, services, and collective power that owners need to better serve their digitally minded customers and build lasting businesses. We're growing and adding more talent to help fulfill this valuable mission. That's where you come in.
The Challenge to Solve
As Revenue Accounting Manager, you'll play a key role in overseeing the end-to-end revenue accounting process across our platform and physical supplies businesses. This is a dynamic role that blends accounting execution with system transformation; you'll not only own critical month-end responsibilities, but also help shape and operationalize new revenue accounting processes as Slice continues to grow and evolve. You will report to the Director of Revenue Accounting and manage a team of accountants.
Key Responsibilities
Own the monthly revenue close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and revenue-related reporting packages.
Manage the accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, cash application, and collections, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
Reconcile and analyze recognized revenue; partnering with FPA to provide insight on revenue trends, customer behavior, and variance drivers.
Support internal and external reporting requirements, including GAAP revenue schedules, management reporting, and external audit requests.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure proper setup and accounting for new revenue streams as they occur.
Contribute to the development and documentation of internal controls and accounting policies.
Assist with NetSuite ERP implementation, helping shape future-state revenue and AR processes, including system design, testing, documentation, and cutover activities.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline operations and scale as the business continues to grow.
Manage and develop your direct reports, fostering growth, accountability, and high-quality execution.
The Winning Recipe
You're a strong revenue accountant who enjoys digging into the details, solving problems, and building/planning for scale. You're also excited about helping implement new systems and thrive in an ambiguous environment.
These are some of the core competencies the role calls for:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting or Finance
CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred
5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a managerial role and a focus on revenue accounting
Strong understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606)
Hands-on experience with revenue and AR processes, including reconciliations, invoicing/billing, and month-end close
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
Advanced Excel skills (index, pivot tables, lookups, large datasets)
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Experience utilizing automation and data tools (e.g., Alteryx Designer, SQL, etc.)
Exposure to NetSuite (implementation or user experience) and experience with physical consumer products, supply chain, and/or inventory accounting preferred
The Extras
Working at Slice comes with a comprehensive set of benefits, but here are some of the unexpected highlights:
Flexible PTO
Market leading medical, vision and dental insurance
401K matching up to 4%
Wellness reimbursement/stipend
Weekly pizza stipend (Yes, that's a thing!)
Salary Range: $120K-$135k + equity
