Restaurant Host/Hostess
Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Host to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your primary responsibility will be to greet guests warmly, manage reservations, and ensure a smooth flow of service in our restaurant. A passion for hospitality and excellent customer service skills are essential for success in this position.
Duties
Greet and welcome guests as they arrive, ensuring a positive first impression.
Manage reservations and seating arrangements efficiently using the Resy and Toast POS system.
Assist guests with inquiries regarding the menu, specials, and restaurant services.
Maintain an organized waiting list during peak hours and communicate wait times effectively.
Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
Handle phone calls with professionalism, providing information about the restaurant and taking reservations.
Uphold cleanliness and organization at the host stand and dining area.
Support guest relations by addressing any concerns or special requests promptly.
Qualifications
Strong communication skills with a focus on guest services and hospitality.
Previous experience in food service or customer service is preferred but not required.
Familiarity with POS systems, particularly Resy and POS, is a plus.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to interact positively with guests.
A team player who can collaborate effectively with staff to enhance the dining experience.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
