Job Title: Responsible Manager
Location: Archerfield Rotary Wing base, Queensland
We are seeking an experienced aviation engineering management professional to lead a team of Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers at our Archerfield Rotary Wing base. As a Responsible Manager, you will be responsible for controlling, organising, planning, and supervising all engineering activities.
The role requires a strong leadership presence, dedication to safety, and a high standard of airworthiness. You will ensure that all aircraft maintenance is conducted with the highest standard of regulatory and procedural compliance.
You will report to the Head of Engineering and provide support in maintaining the engineering budget. Additionally, you will manage all engineering activities associated with tooling, procurement, records management, and training.
Key Responsibilities:
Control, organise, plan, and supervise all engineering activities
Ensure all aircraft maintenance is conducted with the highest standard of regulatory and procedural compliance
Manage all engineering activities associated with tooling, procurement, records management, and training
Report to the Head of Engineering and provide support in maintaining the engineering budget
Requirements:
CASA Part 66 B1 and/or B2 C Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence
Minimum ten (10) years' experience as a LAME in aviation maintenance and engineering management and coordination
Advanced knowledge of current CASA regulatory legislation as it relates to a CAR 30 and/or Part 145 maintenance organisation
Minimum five (5) years' engineering experience on twin engine helicopters
Part 66 License with aircraft type rating for AW13+ helicopters
Part 66 License with engine type rating for PWC PT6 C series engine
Desirable Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Responsible Manager Engineering/Chief Engineer within a CAR 30 or Part 145 Maintenance Organisation
Demonstrated ability to manage a team in an aviation organisation
Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Heavy/deep maintenance experience
Project management experience
Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite
