Reporting to the Resident/Client Outreach Programs Supervisor, the Rehabilitation/Physiotherapy Assistant delivers goal-oriented therapeutic programs to long-term care residents, enabling them to maintain or improve functional and cognitive capacities in all aspects of daily living, to the extent of their abilities. Performs duties in accordance with Miramichi Lodge’s Mission, Vision and Values, Competencies, and the Long-Term Care Homes Act and regulations.
Qualifications:
· Completion of an Occupational Therapist and/or Physiotherapist Assistant diploma from a recognized community college.
· Certificate—Food Safety Awareness Program recognized by a Public Health Unit.
· Demonstrated leadership skills, initiative, sound judgment, as well as the ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
· Experience in a Long-Term-Care setting considered an asset.
· Physically capable of performing assigned duties.
· Ability to perform shift work requirements within a 24/7 operation.
· The ability to meet and maintain health requirement standards of Miramichi Lodge, as per Long-Term Care Legislation.
