Full job description
Under the supervision of the Administrative Nurse (AN) or Charge Nurse, the Clinical Nurse II (CNII) is responsible for providing skilled and comprehensive nursing care to radiation oncology patients with a wide variety of oncological and/or disease related problems seen for consultation, treatment, and follow-up. Through application of the nursing process, the CNII provides direct care and implements plans for continuity and coordination of patient care with other members of the patient’s health care team. In collaboration with the AN, the CNII provides appropriate guidance and supervision for ancillary nursing personnel and participates in orientation of new medical and/or technical personnel. Responsibilities include compliance with Medical Center and departmental Policies and Procedures, Environmental Safety, House and Telephone Standards, compliance with all regulatory agency requirements. The position will involve travel between all UCSF Radiation Oncology sites. The hours are daytime M-F, generally from about 7AM to 6PM, but may vary with start times from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM and end times may vary from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The RadOnc RN helps manage side effects, symptoms, care and coordination of complex interdisciplinary services. The CNII will work closely with one or more physicians who will be directing and delegating care as appropriate. This role will function as a Generalist Clinic RN to all UCSF RadOnc locations, and may occasionally include our procedural areas.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $84.78 - $109.85 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center Radiation Oncology locations
Minimum of three years’ clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) with at least two years of experience employed in an acute care setting, med surg or ICU
Minimum one year of oncology experience
Clinical experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an ambulatory setting
Excellent communication skills
Strong, starting IV Skills
Ability to interact on an interpersonal level with patients and staff. Ability to deal with issues related to death and dying
Enhanced computer skills including, basic use of email, internet, navigating windows, and ability to learn various computer systems such as additional features in EPIC/ APeX, Aria and other clinical tools
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a procedural setting
Accessing ports
Radiation Oncology experience
Aria or Mosaiq experience
License/Certification

Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
Active American Heart Association BLS/CPR Certification
ACLS within six months of hire
