Registered Nurse Acute Service
The Acute Care Service model of care provides mental health assessments, short-term treatment in the community, and collaborative care for consumers transferring between hospital and community. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for:
Mental Health Assessments:
To assess consumers within the community experiencing acute mental health problems
To determine an appropriate pathway to care (e.g., community treatment; assist consumers access and admission to inpatient treatment)
Short-Term Treatment:
To provide short-term mental health treatment in the community
To promote effective follow-up post mental health admission
Collaborative Care:
To collaborate with other stakeholders for the most appropriate ongoing care and treatment
To ensure seamless transitions between hospital and community care
Requirements:
Recognised nursing tertiary qualifications
Current nursing registration with AHPRA
Demonstrated competencies to provide contemporary mental health practice
Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable)
