Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, the Team/Clinical Lead is responsible for the leadership and coordination of staff, programs and services within their assigned area which can be a site, unit or program. The Team/Clinical Lead is responsible for mentoring, responding to clinical questions and coordinating ongoing skill development to deliver effective clinical services based on evidence and population need across the continuum of health. This role aids the manager in selection, orientation, supervision and evaluation of interdisciplinary program staff. Daily coordination of the program may include workload utilization, scheduling, referral triage, prioritization, and student placements. This position will provide professional leadership, including service delivery coordination and supervision for the Child Life and Therapeutic Arts Team within Stollery Children’s Hospital. This position will work directly with the Child Life Educator and Manager to facilitate student education experiences, education, and training opportunities. It is essential the position is actively involved in research and promotes the translation of related research/evaluation, best practice, and practice standards/guidelines into programs. The Clinical Lead provides support to the Child Life program which includes several disciplines within therapeutic services including Child Life Specialist, Music Therapist, Art Therapist, and support staff. Collaborate with the Stollery Foundation and other Stollery programs in the planning and organizing of special events. Demonstration of ability to effectively implement change management and participation in quality improvement within Stollery Children’s Hospital is required. The Clinical/Team Lead may represent the Child Life Services within the Edmonton Zone, and Province as a part of local and provincial committees and working groups.

As a Recreation Therapy Professional Practice Lead (PPL) you will advance professional practice for the discipline to support excellence in patient and family centred care. You will act as a key discipline professional practice support and resource for staff, programs and leadership in the zone or service sector for evidence-based practice, professional standards, ethics and legislative requirements. As the recreation therapy professional practice lead you will lead quality improvement, program development, evaluation and knowledge translation related to zone, service sector, staff and patient needs. You may represent the service sector or zone on provincial advisories, working groups, councils and initiatives. The Recreation Therapy PPL provides discipline expertise to clinicians, operational managers and directors to meet needs related to emerging trends, scope of practice, staff mix, service models and outcome targets.

Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution as required for registration or professional membership. in allied health eligible profession. Minimum of 5 years Acute Care Pediatric experience. Prior experience working with children and adolescents (0-17 years old). Previous Team Lead, Clinical Lead, Supervisory or Leadership experience. Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist.
Preferred Qualifications:
