Real Estate Assistant / Jr Paralegal
SE Calgary General Practice Law Office looking for a fulltime legal assistant / jr paralegal (in office) with an emphasis on REAL ESTATE transactions. We are looking for an assistant that has the following skills: the ability to work under pressure; strong communication skills; willingness to assist on a variety of matters as required; organized and able to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines; and a strong attention to detail. You would be responsible for the file from the start to the finish.
The duties and responsibilities of this position include:
· Answering calls and emails to clients, other lawyers, banks, etc
· Conducting and reviewing searches
· Prepare and proofread documents prior to sending to clients and/or other lawyers
· Drafting and revising documents, checklists and organizing materials for client meetings, transactions, and closings
· Sending out and processing invoices, trust deposits
· Preparing bank deposits
· Other administrative duties as required (opening files / closing files / assisting clients who drop in, etc)
This is a full time, in-office, Monday to Friday, year round position .
The qualifications of this position are:
· Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma or Certificate
· experience in real estate transactions within Alberta is mandatory (salary will be based on your experience level). This is NOT an entry level position.
· Experience with WordPerfect, MS Office and PCLaw would be an asset
