The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager and based in Sydney, the Project Technician will support the Technology Project delivery business in the areas of Building Management Systems (BMS), Integrated Communications Networks (ICN) and innovative solutions such as Integrated Building Platforms (IBP) and Master System Integrations (MSI). Some of the key responsibilities will include:
Deliver commissioning, witness testing, and defect rectification as per the commissioning plan
Manage site safety and implement Site Safety Plans in line with VAE and national standards
Oversee subcontractor safety, quality, and technical performance
Coordinate project works with builders, FMs, and other contractors
Identify risks, scope changes, variations, and delays; support the project manager
Implement project engineering onsite, including programming, database setup, and graphics deployment
Energy Meter validation and testing
What makes you stand out
Successful candidate will demonstrate their experience in BMS/HVAC project work in construction industry, an understanding of the challenges of working in a dynamic and fast-growing business, and the following attributes:
Restricted Electrical Licence is mandatory
Experience in the construction industry is mandatory
Experience with Niagara and DISTECH products is preferred
The ability to collaborate with a VAE team and external stakeholders
Good written verbal communication skills
Exceptional customer service, time management and documentation skills
Ability to work under pressure, manage tasks and communicate status
Highly motivated and self-driven
Team orientated, open to change and a progressive mindset
