At Joyous Ventures, we are committed to providing immediate support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or crisis. Through our dedicated Social Services Team, we help participants navigate available resources and access comprehensive care.
We assist with:
Securing healthcare services (medical home, dental care, wellness programs)
Linkages to mental health and substance abuse support
Guidance with benefits enrollment (health insurance, income support)
On-site counseling, therapy, support groups, and assistance with emotional well-being and relationship challenges
Life skills development to foster independence
Community reintegration through social activities and connections
Transportation and accompaniment services
Additional support to achieve long-term housing stability
These services are crucial in promoting the well-being, empowerment, and resilience of our participants—strengthening the broader community in the process.
Join Our Team: Program Aide
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Program Aide to join our team. This role is focused on supporting residents and upholding their rights in our housing programs. You will be part of a collaborative team environment and make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and families striving for stability.
Job Summary
The Program Aide ensures a safe, secure, and respectful living environment for program participants. This role works in partnership with behavioral health teams to support each participant’s journey toward self-sufficiency.
Essential Duties Responsibilities
Maintain a drug-, alcohol-, and violence-free living environment
Welcome and orient new participants; assist with exits when needed
Educate and enforce program policies and procedures
Monitor participant activities and help resolve issues
Promptly report compliance concerns or problematic behaviors to supervisors
Assign and supervise completion of participant chores, ensuring safety standards
Administer drug/alcohol screenings as required
Maintain thorough shift documentation; communicate effectively with incoming shift
Report medical emergencies, provide First Aid/CPR, and follow established protocols
Conduct wellness checks as needed
Attend staff meetings and training sessions
Collaborate with fellow Program Aides to maintain community harmony
Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum one (1) year experience in a shelter or social services setting
Experience with individuals who are mentally ill, medically fragile, or homeless
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills a plus
Certifications Required
Food Handler Certification
BLS/CPR Certification
