The Principal Project Officer position is available until 30 June 2025 unless otherwise determined.

About The Capability Branch

The Capability branch is located in the Schools and Student Support Division. The Capability branch is committed to a thriving and capable workforce equipped with the skills and confidence to support every student to realise their potential. A key part of the Capability branch is the Education Futures Institute (EFI) that delivers high-quality, evidence-informed and equitable capability development for a diverse workforce across key career stages.

The EFI provides customised and co-designed professional learning programs to meet the needs of staff located in metropolitan, regional, rural and remote locations across the state. The EFI empowers staff with the skills, knowledge and capability to excel in their role.

About The Role

The Principal Project Officer will work with a range of stakeholders to co-design and lead implementation of priority capability initiatives for Department of Education staff.

The Principal Project Officer Plays a Key Role In

partnering with subject matter experts and stakeholders to support the quality design and implementation of a range of priority capability programs
supporting the design, delivery and development of resources, communications and materials associated with priority capability programs
providing high quality advice, briefs, submissions, papers and reports to Capability Branch and Schools and Student Support Division
leading project and program planning, communication and coordination with key stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and achieve required outcomes.


The Principal Project Officer will report to the Manager, EFI Operations, Capability Branch.

The Ideal Applicant Will

have developed skills with professional learning, program management and/or school improvement-related programs.
have high-level written and oral communication skills and be able to engage with a wide range of internal and external high-level stakeholders
be able to engage with a wide range of internal and external high-level stakeholders.
