Stats NZ Tatauranga Aotearoa is a Central Government employer with over 1200 people across Aotearoa. We provide data and statistics to support the decisions of Government, Māori and Iwi organisations, businesses, NGOs, and New Zealanders.
About the Role:
The Principal Analyst will lead the charge in customer-centric design, enhancing our data products and services to maximise customer value. This role requires an innovative thinker who can confidently develop a research-based understanding of customer needs and use this to lead improvements to our products and services.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional leadership in the form of expert guidance and advice, working with a wide range of teams and individuals across Stats NZ and the wider data ecosystem.
Mentor and coach staff across the branch to develop their skills and knowledge.
Develop practice guidelines around new and original practices that enable other staff to work efficiently and consistently.
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in a related field such as Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Psychology, or Computer Science.
Relevant experience in a similar role, using insights from quantitative and qualitative data/information to inform design and working with customers to take an iterative, test-driven approach to change.
Knowledge of User Experience/Customer Experience and technical decision making.
Demonstrable research skills and ability to develop and implement new designs to deliver increased customer value.
