About the opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Associate with both English and Bangla language proficiency to join a multidisciplinary team conducting research in perinatal epidemiology. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, analysis, and dissemination of research related to maternal and newborn health, with a focus on analysing data from a large-scale cluster randomsied controlled trial and establishing a cohort study.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

Conduct statistical analyses of perinatal and maternal health data using STATA

prepare tables, manuscripts, reports, and presentations for academic and policy audiences

assist with grant applications and ethics submissions

prepare questionnaires using REDcap for a cohort study of heat exposure and pregnancy outcomes

monitor and track data collected in the cohort study

contribute to the implementation and analysis of epidemiological studies and trials

collaborate with national and international partners, including those in South Asia.

About you

PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health.

Master of Public Health

demonstrated research experience in perinatal or maternal health epidemiology, particularly public health research

experience of working in low-income setting particularly South Asia

proficiency in understanding epidemiological concepts and study designs

proficiency in statistical analysis using STATA

proficiency in REDcap

familiarity with data management and quality assurance in epidemiological research

experience working with large datasets from (cluster) randomised trials

strong publication record relative to career stage

proficiency in the Bangla language, both conversational and written, using your preferred forms of communication (eg signing, AAC devices or other formats).

Work Rights: you must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
