Responsibilities
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Facilities is seeking a Full Time Licensed Plumber to inspect, repair, modify, and maintain plumbing fixtures in heating, water, and drainage systems
This role is crucial for ensuring the safe functioning and quality of all plumbing systems throughout the facilities
The Licensed Plumber will also provide mentorship and supervision to junior plumbers and handle more complex repairs and modifications
Performs work orders and participates in projects as directed
Keeps daily logs on major components up to date
Identifies electrical, plumbing, and safety problems applicable to the installation and takes necessary corrective action
Reads and interprets blueprints to repair plumbing systems
Maintains piping systems by opening clogged drains, replacing washers, and repairing leaky faucets
Completes scheduled preventive maintenance
Tests, maintains, and evaluates equipment performance and reports anomalies to appropriate staff
Repairs circulator and sump pumps, refrigeration unit's drains, bearings, universal joints, and similar mechanical equipment
Prepares and maintains accurate records and files on equipment and facility preventative maintenance
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets

About the position
