Compassionate Pediatric Caregiver Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join our team as a primary caregiver for children with complex medical needs. As a member of our home-based care program, you will play a vital role in providing hands-on medical care and advocating for the needs of each child.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence and inclusion for children with complex medical or developmental needs. They will also work collaboratively with staff, families, and healthcare teams to ensure each child reaches their full potential.

Responsibilities:
• Nursing Care: Provide medical care within the scope of practice per valid license, including physical assessments, administering medications and gastric tube feeds, monitoring oxygen saturation, and managing ventilator equipment.
• Create an inclusive environment that is safe and suitable for all children.
• Promote independence in children with complex medical needs by helping them manage and understand their own medical care.
• Develop and manage nursing care plans for children with complex medical needs.
• Advocate on behalf of children with complex medical needs and support families in navigating the system and accessing services.
Qualifications:
• Practicing License in good standing with the licensing body (SALPN, CRNS, or RPNA).
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience preferred.
• Up-to-date First Aid, CPR Level BLS certification.
• Transferring, Lifting, and Repositioning (TLR) training an asset.
• Experience with ventilators an asset.
• Valid driver's license required.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong collaborator with staff, families, and outside agencies.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Leadership skills to take charge in emergent situations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
• Shift work - rotates every four weeks.
• Exposed to unpredictable behaviors.
• Fast-paced, noisy work environment.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and products, needle sharps, blood and body fluids.
• Driving of children required.
• Standing for most of the shift.
This is a casual position with multiple shifts available, including days, evenings, and nights. The wage range is $35.45 to $37.97/hr.
