Job description
Albi is seeking a Pastry Sous Chef who is highly motivated and passionate about cooking to join our tight knit team. The Pastry Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing nightly dessert service at Albi, as well as some prep for daytime sister cafe/bakery, YELLOW. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of fine dining experience, a desire to learn, and is able to maintain a consistent high level of execution. Albi/YELLOW offers excellent benefits and opportunities to grow with the company.

Albi is the nationally recognized, michelin starred debut restaurant from chef/owner Michael Rafidi.

Chef Rafidi takes inspiration from his family’s Palestinian roots, bringing to the table an experience that melds the ancient tradition of the region’s coal-fired cuisine with local, seasonal, Mid-Atlantic ingredients and a refined culinary acumen. Daytime cafe, YELLOW, offers pita sandwiches, mezze, pastries which meld Levantine ingredients and flavors with classic French technique, and inventive coffee offerings.

Over the course of the first year of operations, the dual concept venture has attracted significant critical attention, earning mention as one of the nation's Best New Restaurant lists in Eater National, Robb Report and Esquire, Eater DC's Restaurant of the Year, 1 Michelin Star and inclusion as one of the best bakeries in Washington, DC by Food Wine Magazine.
