Position: Paralegal
Summary: A leading logistics company is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to support the Legal Compliance team in managing contracts, project management, and administrative legal duties. This role focuses on contract management, legal research, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations in the logistics and transportation industry. The Paralegal will handle the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and review to negotiation and documentation, and assist with other legal matters as necessary.
Essential Duties:
Administrative Support:
Provide administrative support for day-to-day activities of the Legal Compliance team.
Process budget requests, invoices, expenses, and reimbursements.
Maintain and update logistics-related licenses and insurance policies.
Organize and prepare meetings, events, presentations, and reports.
Contract Management:
Review contract request forms and collect necessary information for contracts.
Draft, review, edit, and analyze various types of contracts, including NDAs, logistics service agreements, transportation agreements, warehouse management agreements, etc.
Provide guidance and support to colleagues on contract-related matters.
Handle amendments and/or supplemental agreements for existing contracts to accommodate changes in business requirements.
Coordinate with various departments to ensure contracts are compliant with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
Contract Negotiation:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, procurement, finance, pricing, sales, and operations to ensure alignment on contract terms.
Act as the point of contact for contract-related discussions and serve as a liaison between corporate counsel and other stakeholders.
Strive to achieve favorable contract terms while maintaining strong client relationships.
Documentation and Record-Keeping:
Route contracts for signature and collect fully executed contracts for storage in designated shared folders.
Manage the contract lifecycle through an integrated logistics platform (e.g., Cello), including amendments, renewals, and terminations.
Maintain organized contract records and create and manage a contract database.
Legal Research and Compliance:
Conduct legal research on logistics and transportation laws and regulations.
Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory standards in the logistics industry.
Litigation Support and Other Legal Matters:
Assist in litigation, claims, and other legal disputes as required.
Develop and provide contract/legal training to internal clients.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Working Hours, Working Style:
Hybrid position: work from home (WFH) and onsite at the Texas or California office (minimum 3 days per week).
Full-time, non-exempt role.
