Reporting To: Production/Operations Manager
Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop to ensure timely and efficient assembly, wiring, testing, and dispatch of control panels and systems in accordance with quality standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Workshop Operations:
• Plan, organize, and supervise daily workshop activities.
• Allocate jobs to technicians and monitor progress.
• Ensure timely completion of projects as per production schedule.
• Team Management:
• Supervise a team of technicians, electricians, and fitters.
• Provide training and guidance to improve skill levels and productivity.
• Ensure discipline, safety, and housekeeping in the workshop.
• Quality Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to company quality standards and procedures.
• Conduct inspections and tests during and after assembly.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and statutory norms.
• Inventory Tools Management:
• Coordinate with the stores department for timely availability of materials and components.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and calibrated.
• Documentation Reporting:
• Maintain job cards, work progress reports, and inspection records.
• Report daily progress and issues to the management.
• Liaison Coordination:
• Work closely with design, procurement, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Support the logistics team in dispatch preparation and packaging.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Education: Diploma / ITI in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Experience: 5–10 years in a workshop supervisory role, preferably in control panel manufacturing or industrial systems.
• Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of electrical/control panel assembly, wiring, and testing.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
• Familiarity with panel testing equipment.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Problem-solving and time management abilities.
• Team player with a hands-on attitude.
Preferred:
• Experience in ISO-certified manufacturing setups.
• Exposure to automation systems or PLC-based control panels.
