Advance Lumber Pallet is actively seeking a motivated Operations Supervisor for our wooden pallet manufacturing plant in Calgary, AB.. This pivotal role involves overseeing the complete manufacturing process from initial order reception to final product dispatch. The Operations Supervisor will work closely under the supervision of the Manager, ensuring the smooth operation of all manufacturing activities. This includes direct involvement in the production line, quality control, materials handling, and team management to meet our high standards of efficiency and product quality.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process of wooden pallets, ensuring orders are completed accurately and on schedule. Operate and manage the safe use of forklifts and other machinery for the loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products.Implement and monitor strict quality control checks to ensure all pallets meet our quality standards and customer specifications.Efficiently manage and direct plant employees, assigning tasks, and optimizing workflow for maximum productivity and employee engagement.Maintain organization of the manufacturing floor, ensuring optimal arrangement of raw materials and finished goods for easy access and workflow efficiency.Execute accurate and timely completion of all inbound and outbound paperwork, maintaining comprehensive records of operations.Collaborate with the Manager to identify and implement operational improvements, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a high standard of workplace safety and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, specifically within the wooden pallet industry or related field.Valid forklift operation certificate with hands-on experience in materials handling.Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.Proven track record of being a "team-oriented" professional, willing to work closely with others to achieve corporate goals.Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.Proficient in basic computer applications and the ability to manage operational documents and records.A commitment to safety protocols and creating a safe working environment for all employees.Excellent problem-solving skills, with the capacity to make timely decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.Mechanical experience is a bonus.We offer a supportive work environment where innovation and initiative are valued.
